Athletic Therapist

Jodie Pic.jpg

My name is Jodie Macfarlane and I'm excited to share that I recently graduated from the
University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Applied Health and am certified as an Athletic Therapist. I have extensive experience treating and assessing high level athletes through to the everyday athlete like myself!

As an athletic therapist, I have advanced certifications and assessment techniques. I’m
committed to addressing musculoskeletal injuries and focusing on injury prevention as well as developing individualized tailored rehabilitation plans. My greatest joy comes from empowering the “everyday athlete” to become functionally stronger and pain-free. Each person deserves the special attention that my extensive life experience provides, and I thrive on the challenge of unraveling complex injuries, piecing together the puzzle of each individual’s health and wellness.

Let’s sit down and discuss your short-term and long-term goals, exploring how we can achieve them together.

In my off time you will find me at a bro gym lifting weights, hiking around my beloved Birds Hill Park or sipping coffee at my favourite coffee shop.

Desiree Neault, RMT

Massage Therapist

Hello, my name is Desiree Neault and I graduated from Robertson College in 2016. I have always had a passion for helping out others and when someone is aching, I immediately jump to massaging them. I also graduated from Recreation for Older Adults in 2020, where during this time I sustained an ankle injury causing Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) that took me out of massaging for 3 years. This has given me the drive and passion to help others who are suffering with pain because I know what it does to the mind, body, and soul! Looking forward to meeting you to help best navigate and manage your pain needs.

Devin Beaudry, RMT

Massage Therapist

Hi my name is Devin Beaudry. I graduated from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba in the spring of 2015 and I am enjoying this second career after serving 35 years with the Canadian Armed Forces. The massage therapy training I received from MTCM has given me the tools in which to bring balance to the unbalanced.

I have been trained in remedial massage, sports massage, advanced treatments, advanced myofascial, and cupping massage. I also offer Deep Tissue Hot Stone Massage. As a massage therapist, the learning never stops so I have also been trained in the specialty of Facial Rejuvenation cupping massage. This form of cupping is likened to a facelift without the use of surgery, chemicals, and or injections. It involves hot and cold stone treatment on the upper chest, neck, and face, cupping, and lastly a facial masque with anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Each session is 90 minutes long.

My experiences thus far have ranged from clinical to sporting events such as the RCAF Half Marathon x 3yrs, Canada Summer Games 2017, and working with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers players post-game. I am very excited to be practising here at Fort Richmond Physiotherapy and look forward to the diverse clientele that seeks massage as a health care modality.

Priyanka Tailor, RMT

Hello!

I am Priyanka Tailor and a recent graduate from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy. My goals as a massage therapist for my clients are to improve their health, wellness, quality of life and pain management.

My focus is to work on clients that need therapeutic massage, deep tissue, post surgery, scarring, injury and mental health.

Shevaughn Thiessen, RMT

Massage Therapist

I'm Shevaughn Thiessen, and I graduated from Evolve College of Massage Therapy, in January 2019. My passion for massage therapy can be traced back to childhood when my sisters requested back and foot massages. I believe every person is on their individual journey and needs treatment based on their individual goals. Since self-care is an integral part of this journey, I encourage and educate clients in ways they can achieve better health. My focus is relaxation while treating the area of injury or pain.

Some of my favourite modalities are myofascial techniques, deep tissue massage, and structural therapy. I enjoy working with a variety of age groups, including children and seniors. As a Registered Massage Therapist, I am committed to continuing education. I am fascinated by cupping and advanced structural therapy courses, which I plan to pursue in the future.

Since I have lived in Manitoba most of my life, I've learned to make the most of all the seasons and the wide variety of outdoor activities. I love canoeing, backpacking, and gardening in summer, and snowshoeing and ice skating in winter. Learning is a life-long journey. I am excited to be practicing at Fort Richmond Physiotherapy and look forward to meeting you!
