Do I need a referral from the doctor to get physiotherapy, athletic therapy or massage covered?

No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see any of our health professionals. Some insurance companies do require a referral from a doctor before they reimburse for treatment costs, however, most do not.

Are physiotherapy services covered by Manitoba Health?

Manitoba Health does not cover physiotherapy.

Services are covered by:

  1. Private insurance extended health plans (ex. Blue Cross, Great West Life, etc.)
  2. Manitoba Public Insurance if you have been in a motor vehicle accident
  3. Worker's Compensation Board if it's a work-related injury.

How long is each physiotherapy appointment?

Appointments with a physiotherapist are usually 45 minutes to 1 hour long, but it depends on the injury being treated.

Can you direct bill to my insurance company?

Yes, we direct bill to most insurance companies.

This way, you only have to pay for the portion of the treatment fee that your insurance plan does not cover.
